Mayor’s Ball Awards $60,000 in Scholarships

Last week, students from Central High, Glenwood, and Russell County High were awarded a total of $60,000 in scholarship money from the Phenix City Mayor’s Ball for Education and Charity. The following were awarded scholarships: Trinity Upshaw, Jack Lahr, Kendall Williams, Jordan Lattimore, Jalisa Adams, Samiah Love, Nyana Alfred, Kathryn Lunsford, Shadora Brooks, Payton Lunsford, Lela Childs, Devonte’ Mathews, Jackson Curtis, Toni Orsini, Jalen Davis, Raven Perry, Jasmyne Davis, Micaiah Porter, Brandon Dix, Jimon Stickney, Maddie Dykes, Tia Tarver, Camyen Feagins, Heather Taylor, Janiah Fryer, Makeria Tolliver, Kailin Horn, Tommy Vickers, Tyler Horne, Orianna Watters, William Hyche, Chloe Wheelis, Shakala Jones, Amiyah Wilson, Anthony King, Tory Wilson, Keyonce King, and Mackenzie Woody. Students also received a commemorative glass bottle of Coke. The Mayor’s Ball is held each year as a fund raiser to give students in the community scholarships, as well as to help local non-profit organizations.
