ALDOT bridge maintenance on U.S. Highway 80  has been extended to end of March

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) is performing bridge maintenance on U.S. Highway 80 just east of U.S. Highway 280 in Phenix City. Maintenance began Feb. 11.  Maintenance activities are from approximately 9 a.m. CT and continue to approximately 4 p.m. CT during the week.

There will be alternating lane closures on U.S. Highway 80, reducing the bridge to one lane while work is being performed.

All work was expected to be completed by the end of the day March 1. Due to heavy rainfall the past few weeks and impending rainfall, the completion of this project has been extended until the end of the month.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution while traveling through a work zone.

ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient and environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.
