Chattahoochee Valley Community College (CVCC) is seeking nominations for its Hall of Fame Class of 2021. The awards recognize individuals who, through their exceptional work and achievements, have made significant contributions to their professions, their communities, and CVCC. These nominees embody the highest standards of excellence and are recognized by the CVCC Foundation.
CVCC is proud to honor those who have contributed to its success. For nearly 50 years, the college has been the community’s open-access college. Students from all walks of life attend CVCC and become our community’s public safety officers, media leaders, business innovators and a variety of professionals serving the community. An appropriate recognition for selected honorees will be announced early next year. The Hall of Fame has provided nearly $300,000 in scholarships over the past six years. Sponsorship opportunities are available now.
In March of 2020, the college was pleased to recognize Coach Richard Mahone as Distinguished Athlete, the Honorable Chance Corbett as Distinguished Alumni, and the life of the late Dr. Rickey Huffstutler in the area of Distinguished Service. Mahone served 15 years as Head Coach of the men’s basketball team at CVCC. Corbett serves as Russell County Commissioner, and the Emergency Manager for Auburn University. The late Dr. Huffstutler served CVCC for over 17 years in the roles of Dean of Administrative and Financial Services, Dean of Instruction, Director of Extended Day and Community Service Programs.
CVCC is seeking the nominations of individuals to join this distinguished list of inductees. Criteria and nomination forms in the categories of Service, Alumni, and Athletics can be found at www.cv.edu/nomination-criteria-and-forms/. The nomination deadline is Oct. 23.
