Thursday morning, community leaders will gather with citizens for the 6th Annual Unity in Prayer Breakfast.

Phenix City Mayor Eddie Lowe began the time of prayer with the Lee-Russell Ministerial Association. For years, the event has been at the Martin-Idle Hour Community Center.

The guest speaker will be the Rev. James C. Elder, Jr., pastor at First Baptist Church in Columbus.

The event is free and open to the public. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Breakfast begins at 7 a.m. ET and the program starts at 7:30 a.m. There will be a time of prayer for the country, the state and local communities.
