Denise began as a reporter in 2007 and became the Executive Editor in 2012. She has a love for community news and has won Alabama Press Association awards for journalism and newspaper design. Denise was raised in the Phenix City and Smiths Station community. She is involved in her church, Golden Acres Baptist, and takes baptism photos there. Community involvement includes: (current) Phenix City – Russell County Chamber of Commerce board member, Miss Phenix City Pageant board member, Red Cross Disaster Action Team captain, Russell County – Alabama Bicentennial Committee member, United Way volunteer, (previous) United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley board member, Russell County Red Cross board member. In her spare time, Denise enjoys the company of her two dogs and lifting weights.
Ginny celebrated her first year with the company on January 23, 2018. She has been married husband Mark for 44 years. They have two grown children and six grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and making jewelry. She is a member of the Hurtsboro United Methodist Church where she and her husband sing in the choir. Ginny recently became a member of the Russell County Historic Commission. Her job with the company includes, but is not limited to: processing the legal ads from submission to billing; accounts payable for the Magnolia Greene, Inc. entities, which includes the Citizen; courier to the company president; assisting the advertising sales manager; and other special projects.
Darlene has been married for 36 years to husband Danny. They have two children and five grandchildren. Darlene worked for CTV-Beam for 12 years before transferring to advertising sales with East Alabama Advertising. She has been selling commercial and newspaper advertising since 2010. She was born and raised in South Florida in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. She moved to this area to raise her children. She attends church at Pentecostals of Phenix City.
Lee has been part of the CTV-Beam family for more than 30 years. She sells commercial and newspaper advertising for East Alabama Advertising. Lee is a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church and has two children, Chandler and Cassidy, who she is very proud of. She enjoys spending time with her large extended family and travelling to the beach. Lee also enjoys giving advice about life, love and Christ to those she meets.
Meagan began her career with East Alabama Advertising as a Co-Op student while she was senior at Central High School. After graduation, she accepted a full time position with the company. Since 2012, Meagan has been in charge of billing, scheduling commercials on TV and more. In 2017, she was named the East Alabama Advertising Sales Manager.
Brad began working with The Citizen in June 2017 as the advertising graphics designer. He develops ad campaigns for businesses as well as rebuilt the Citizen’s Web site. He also helps maintain the newspaper’s web presence. Brad has been married to Rachael since 2012. They have a daughter Caroline. Brad and Rachael attend Golden Acres Baptist where he assists with audio and volunteers with Upward Basketball.
