Multiple, local farmers’ markets are set to start up again soon.
Crawford’s Market Days will resume May 19. Crawford’s Market Days are open on the third Saturday of each month during the season, from May to October, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. ET. The market operates in the field across from the historic Tuckabatchee Masonic Lodge off Highway 80 in Crawford. For more information about becoming a vendor or other details, look the market up on Facebook. This market also sells locally handmade crafts.
Less than two weeks later, Russell County’s Farmers’ Market is slated to open the first Tuesday after Memorial Day, on May 29. There is a change this year to how that market will operate. It will be open at one location on two days of the week: at the Garrett-Harrison Stadium parking lot off Summerville Road in Phenix City, on Thursdays from noon-6 p.m. ET; or on Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon ET.
Hurtsboro’s Farmers’ Market also will open May 29. It will be open Tuesdays at the Playground Pavilion on Railroad Street in downtown Hurtsboro from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. CT.
For more information on the Russell County and Hurtsboro farmers’ markets, call Russell County Extension Coordinator Jennifer Davidson at (334) 298-6845 or visit her office at 508 14th St., Phenix City.
