Speak God’s Word into your life

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Word of God is full of spiritual power. The Word of God destroys the works of the devil. The anointed Word of God renders the devil powerless, his tricks unravel, and his strategies fail in the presence of a person who wields the sword of the Spirit.

Jesus said, It is written. Read, meditate on the Word, treasure it in your heart so that when the battles come, you will be ready, clothed in the armor of the Word of God.

The Word of God is piercing. It pierces through our ulterior motives,  and it exposes hidden sin. It heals repressed emotions. It is a balm for internal hurts and wounds. Who can we trust to know everything about us and still love us? There is only one – God. His love accepts us the way we are and His love changes us.

The Word of God is full of exceedingly great and precious promises. I heard an elderly man say, “There are times when just holding the Bible close brings me comfort.”

The Bible is God’s book. It is precious to us. We love God and we love His Word. Reading His Word offers us comfort and strength. The next time you read the Bible, see Jesus sitting next to you, talking with you. He is, you know. Let your heart be warmed by His presence. Enjoy being held in His arms of love.

Jesus’ words speak to us, “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again that where I am you may be also.”

The Bible is full of words of peace. Speak them over you and yours, speak them into your situation, speak peace into your storm. Receive His peace that passes all understanding. Words can become part of your being. The words of a talebearer go into the spirit and cause wounds. Words hurt or heal. Words produce life of death. Words bring joy or sorrow. When I say dog, what do you see? You saw an animal. We don’t see the letters in our head: d-o-g. Words create images inside us.

King David said, “I hide your Word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” God’s Word gets inside us and changes our image of ourselves, changes us, changes our thinking, changes our reality, changes our life. Words create our world.

What are you speaking? Charles Capps said, “The Bible says we can have what we say, instead we are saying what we have.” The only time Ezekiel could talk was when he spoke the Word of God. God help us to learn the language of the Word of God. Help us to live in the spirit of the Word of God. Help us to speak your Word over our life and concerns, instead of what we see and feel.
