Tim Cole: Jesus is God with us

Reading Time: 2 minutes

God spoke in times past to the Fathers through the prophets in many various ways and times. In these last days God is speaking to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.

There are many voices speaking today leading people astray. There are even some who claim to be Jesus Christ Himself. God the Father spoke from Heaven at Jesus’ baptism and said, “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”.

Jesus took Peter, James, and John up in the mountain to pray. While they were praying Jesus was transfigured before them. He was filled with the bright glory of God and it shone through Him.

Moses the giver of the Law and Elijah the prophet appeared and were talking with Jesus about His crucifixion. Peter said, Let’s build three tabernacles. One for Jesus, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”. Tabernacles are for worship.  A bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice said out of the cloud, “This is my Son, hear Him”. They fell asleep in the glory.

When they woke up they saw Jesus only. That’s what we need to do today. See Jesus only. Hear Jesus, listen to Him, and obey what He says. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to God the Father in Heaven. It is so simple, yet people make it so hard.

I heard a man say that life is like a wheel. There is one hub and different spokes go out to the various parts of the wheel. He said there is one hub, God. The spokes are the many ways to the one same God. There is only one true and living God, but there are many gods that are worshipped.

Paul the apostle said they are worshiping devils without realizing it. Jesus is the Great I Am in human flesh. He is Emmanuel – God with us. He is the bread of life and the living water. He is the door to salvation and the good Shepherd. He is the Lamb of God. He is the true vine. He is the resurrection and the life. He is the light of the world. He is the Son of God and the Son of man.

When the soldiers came to arrest Him, He asked them who they were looking for. They said, “Jesus of ‘Nazareth”. He said, “I AM He”. This bunch of rough tough soldiers fell helpless on the ground.

If Jesus is a great teacher, you will learn some things. If Jesus is a prophet, you will be challenged. If Jesus is a great preacher, you will be inspired. But if Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God, your life will be changed for all of time and eternity. You will be saved.

Jesus came to His own people and they didn’t receive Him, but as many as received Him to them He gave power to become sons and daughters of God. There is only one name given under Heaven whereby people can be saved, and that is the wonderful name of Jesus.
