The Smiths Station Department of Theatre is performing “The Best Imitation of Myself” at the Smiths Station High School Studio Theatre. Performances are tonight through Saturday. Tickets are $7 and doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
In the psychological comedy, a man tries to figure out where he belongs in life.
Aden Harman plays Guy, the main character of the show.
“My character is trying to tell a story about his life and inspire people,” Harman said. “You’re not alone and everyone has someone they can reach out to.”
Tristan Morris plays Pal and tries to get Guy to tell the truth. They said no names were used because the characters could be anyone. Theatre Director Shaun Fuller wrote the show that was finished in July. He’s written more than a handful of plays but this is the first for the school in a long time. He said it has an element of suicide awareness and students added to the performance.
