Glenwood’s Lady Gators played two contests this past week before taking off for the spring break in school and for the first time in six years of competition, the games were two consecutive ties.
The first game was an important game on March 12 at home as the Lady Gators faced the only team to give them a loss this season, Ezekiel, and battled them to a 1-1 tie. Both teams scored in the second half.
Jordyn Wheeler got the goal for Glenwood, and keeper Taylor Johnson was able to save six shots on the day.
The second tie was on the road against Autauga Academy, also by the same 1-1 score. Again Wheeler had the goal for the Lady Gators, and Sydney Norris got the assist. Taylor Johnson was able to make four saves for Glenwood.
The Lady Gators, 5-1-2, do not play again until March 23, when they will meet Northside Methodist before playing a key game against rival Lee-Scott on March 26 in an important area contest.
