Glenwood played three straight games on the road in the past week and came up with a winning 2-1 record to improve to 4-2 on the young season.

The road games started with a 65-60 loss to Calvary Christian on Dec. 4th as the Gators lost to the Knights for the first time in basketball.

“Led the whole game until the last three minutes,” said Glenwood coach Dusty Perdue after the contest. “They made some big plays down the stretch and we didn’t. They have a very aggressive, athletic team.”

Glenwood had two players in double figures in the loss, Bryce Rozier with 15 and Anthony King with 12.

Following that loss, the Gators got back on the winning track with a convincing 64-29 victory over Northside Methodist in Dothan on Dec. 7th.

“We played a complete game on both ends of the floor,” said Perdue about the game. “Our defense was really good. We got our hands up in the passing lanes and had several deflections and did a great job on the boards,”

The Gators also had a very balanced scoring attack as King and Trevor Horne paced the offense with each scoring 14. Brooks Barton was also in double figures with 11 and Bryce Valero added nine.

The Gators then went on the road to Elmore and battled Edgewood Academy. The Gators won by a single point in overtime on the 10th but details were not available at deadline.

For the remainder of the week, Glenwood will host Pike Liberal Arts on the 11th and then return to the road on the 14th and travel to Eufaula to play Lakeside school.

The next week the Gators are to play in the Gatlinburg, Tenn. winter tournament Dec. 20th-22nd.
